What Doing It Yourself Really Costs
Doing laundry yourself means paying for the machines plus your own detergent — and spending the time. Self-service prices vary by machine size. The bigger cost for most people is time:
- Sorting by color and fabric before you start.
- Washing and drying — waiting through each cycle, or making trips back and forth.
- Folding — often the part that takes longest and gets put off.
With wash & fold, your time spent is two short stops: drop off, then pick up.
When Wash & Fold Is Worth It
- You work long hours and your free time is limited.
- You have a big family and laundry never ends. See wash & fold for big households.
- You don't have a washer and dryer at home.
- You've fallen behind and need to catch up all at once.
When Doing It Yourself Makes Sense
- You enjoy the routine or want full control over every load.
- You're washing bulky items like comforters and rugs — our self-service washers go up to 125 lb. See our washer size guide.
- You want to stack savings — Free Dry Tuesdays & Wednesdays, $5 back per $100 on washers, and card bonuses. See our promotions.
Many customers mix both: self-service for bedding, wash & fold for everyday clothes.
